Connect Claude to braXos

braXos Maestro is a remote MCP connector. Connecting takes a minute and a single browser sign-in.

Before you start

You need a braXos account in your organization. Your administrator confirms which systems and tools are enabled for you. If you don't see a tool you expect, it may not be enabled for your group - ask your administrator.

Add the connector

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors (in the composer, Customize → Connectors).
  2. Choose braXos Maestro (or Add custom connector and paste your organization's Maestro URL, e.g. https://maestro.braxos.com/mcp).
  3. Click Connect.
  4. A braXos sign-in window opens. Authenticate with your organization's identity provider (single sign-on where configured).
  5. Approve the connection. Claude now lists the braXos tools available to you.

Authentication

braXos Maestro authenticates every connection with OAuth 2.0 against the braXos identity service (Keycloak). You sign in as yourself; Maestro derives your organization and group memberships from your token - there are no separate API keys to paste, and no credentials are stored in the client.

  • Your session is scoped to your organization only.
  • The tools you can see and call are filtered by your group permissions.
  • Connector credentials for the downstream systems (Google, Jira, Salesforce, …) are held and applied server-side - they are never exposed to the model or the client.

See Security & tenancy for the full model.

Staying connected, and picking up tool changes

Routine maintenance is transparent. braXos Maestro runs its gateway statelessly, so node patches, security updates, and deploys that restart the service do not drop your connection or require you to sign in again - your next request just resumes on your existing session.

Newly granted tools need a fresh conversation. An MCP client captures the tool list when a conversation starts. When your available tools grow - a new connector is enabled, you're added to a group, or an administrator curates new fine-grained services for you - start a new conversation to load them (reconnecting the connector also works).

Claude will tell you

If a tool you had access to is removed mid-conversation, Claude is told in-band and will stop using it and explain - no action needed. When your access grows, Claude will suggest starting a new conversation to pick the new tools up.
